This mask was created based on the image of "Hanachirusato" who
appears in the Tale of Genji. In the Tale of Genji, "Hanasachirisato"
is the younger sister of Reikeiden-no-Nyogo, and the sisters lived off
the support of Hikaru Genji, but were treated coldly by Kokiden-no -Nyogo,
causing them to live in frustration. Kokiden no Nyogo is the worst character
in the Tale of Genji, jealous of Kiritsubo-no-Kohi (Hikaru Genji's mother),
who was favored by Emperor Kiritsubo, and was also cold towards Hikaru
Genji. As a result, Reikeidon-no- Nyogo and her sister "Hanasachirusato"
suffered greatly. |
