This mask was created based on a copy of the "Ko-Omote", by imaging the Tsure (Kagekiyo's daughter: Hitomaru) of the Noh play "Kagekiyo". Kagekiyo, who was exiled to Hyuga, did not want to show his pitiful appearance to his daughter Hitomaru, who had come all the way from Kamakura to visit him, but the villagers brought the two together, and Kagekiyo told them stories of his heroism in the Battle of Yashima and other battles, and told them to mourn his legacy as he parted ways with his daughter forever. |
